I have several 5V signals (pulled up with a 10K) going to a 5V to 3.3V level shifter (LVC series chips). Since several of the IO are 5V tolerant, I could get rid of the LVC series chip. Is there any advisable reason to keep the LVC chip (maybe it is more robust...)? Or is the LVC chip fully redundant?
